Woman Acquitted of Second Degree Murder In Boyfriend’s Stabbing Death

A Pine Ridge, South Dakota, woman was acquitted of Second Degree Murder as a result of a federal jury trial in Rapid City, South Dakota, on February 21, 2020.

Doreen Brown, age 44, was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 9, 2019.

The charges related to the stabbing death of Brown’s boyfriend at Pine Ridge on June 27, 2019.

Brown said she stabbed Donald “Donnie” McMillan, Sr. with a screwdriver after he attacked her with a tree branch–and a jury agreed the incdent was self-defense.
