WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) A woman was taken into custody after she stolen an ambulance after failed to stop for police officer.
The woman stole the ambulance from station 17 of the Houston, Texas fire department.
The woman has not yet been identified.
Police managed to track down the missing ambulance using a GPS that was installed in the vehicle.
The woman refused multiple times to pull over before being stopped on Smith at Congress.
After police took the woman into custody, she explained she stole the ambulance because she was fleeing from her abusive boyfriend.
She then went on to say how the ambulance was the nearest vehicle that she could fined.
She has since been charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and felony evading.
No information was released about the woman’s claim concerning her boyfriend.
