HOUSTON, Texas – Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman that occurred at 4801 Jaremese Street about 4:20 a.m. on Saturday.
The suspect, Brittany Brown, 34, is charged with murder..
The identity of the victim, 30, is pending notification to family members.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives P. Pak, H. Horne and J. Wallschlaeger reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment at the above address. Upon arrival, officers met with a juvenile who stated the victim had suffered a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The juvenile told officers she was asleep when the shooting occurred and did not witness the incident.
Further investigation identified Brown as the suspect in this case and, on Sunday (February 6), she was arrested without incident and subsequently charged for her role.
Police say the child was pretending to be asleep after the shooting. A motive was not revealed.
