MANHATTAN — Around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, a 39-year-old female, was last seen leaving her residence by the building doorman in the confines of the 32 Precinct.

During the course of the day the missing communicated with her husband by text and at approximately 1653 hours stated that she was going to kill herself. The missing’s husband attempted to find his wife but was unable to do so and called 911. Patrol units from the 32 Precinct responded to the missing’s residence and began a canvass of the area. Members of the 32 Precinct Detective Squad also responded and immediately notified the NYPD’s Technical Assistance and Response Unit to locate the whereabouts of her cell phone. Detectives were informed that a trace had been tracked to the vicinity of 2186 5th Avenue in Manhattan.

Sergeant Dileo, and Detectives Vasquez, Santiago, and Matos immediately responded to the location and 10 minutes after being notified of the trace, identified the missing’s black BMW vehicle. The officers were able to make entry to the vehicle, which was running with a T-shirt placed in its tailpipe and discovered the missing who was semi-conscious. The missing was transported by EMS to Harlem Hospital where she remains in stable condition.

When examined it was noted that the missing’s cell phone battery was at 6%. Had all units concerned not acted so quickly the cell phone would have turned off and the task of tracking the missing’s location down much more difficult.
