UPPER KEY LARGO, Fla. – Two men were arrested Thursday night following a melee at Gilbert’s Resort in Upper Key Largo spurred by a man exposing himself while urinating from a dock.

Nickalus Steve Snyder, 42, a Miami firefighter, was charged with battery.

Adrian Marcos Cabrera, 36, of Homestead, was charged with fleeing and eluding.

Multiple Deputies responded to a reported large ruckus involving as many as 15 people at the resort dock area at approximately 7:25 p.m. Deputy Joel Torres arrived to find a twin engine 30-foot Contender at the dock. Deputy Torres noted the boat’s Florida number. He saw a man, later identified as Snyder board the vessel, with another man, later identified as Cabrera, at the helm. Multiple witnesses began telling Deputy Torres that Snyder was the suspect who shoved someone. Deputy Torres instructed the mariners to stay at the dock as the boat was about six feet away, but Cabrera looked at Torres and shook his head in the negative. The boat then left.

Meanwhile, other Deputies went to the boat ramp near the Caribbean Club bar as it was one of the few boat ramps open nearby. Both men were found there, detained and later arrested.

Witnesses told Deputy Torres back at Gilbert’s Resort that Snyder exposed himself on the dock and began urinating into the water in view of women and children.

“You could call this a p***ing match,” Snyder reportedly shouted. Hethen shoved the victim several times who attempted to intervene.

Cabrera and Snyder were taken to jail.
