LOUISIANA — An Off-duty New Orleans Police officer was shot in the Desire neighborhood while sitting in his squad car around 7:47 pm Sunday night.
The Officer is in stable condition at the hospital after being shot in the neck/face area, police said.
He was driving an unmarked police unit at the time of the shooting.
Officers are looking for a tan SUV.
The incident occurred in the 3300 block of Alvar St.
It’s unclear what provoked the shooting.
An active search for the shooter is under way.
An investigation is underway.
