WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) A 12-year-old boy has now been arrested in Dallas after police caught with him with a ‘detailed diagram to shoot up a Dallas school.’

Authorities say that, due to the meticulousness of the map, they believe the pre-teen intended to carry out the shooting.

The arrest occurred Thursday at Trinity Basin Preparatory School. The boy was in the seventh grade.

Police have credited a classmate with turning in the student, praising his actions as ‘brave’.

‘An average person would see this diagram and it could them grave concern,’ Dallas Assistant Police Chief Randy Blankenbaker said at a press conference Thursday night, NBC 5 reported.

‘A reasonable person would see this diagram and they would believe that he intended to carry out his threats.’

Blankenbaker told reporters that the boy had spoken about wanting to carry out a shooting ‘several times’ over the past month to his classmate.

However the classmate did not take the threats seriously.

It was only when the boy brought with him to school a ‘written diagram detailing how the plan would be carried out’ that the classmate realized the situation was not a joke.

The classmate went to school administrators and told them what he’d seen.

When the administrators went to talk to the boy, he was holding the diagram.

They called 911 at 12.50pm Thursday.

Shockingly, it is the second such incident in Dallas this month.

On October 20, a 15-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot up North Forney High School.

The boy told his friends he was going to bring a gun to school the following day, The Dallas Morning News reported.

There have been more than 40 school shootings across America this year.
