Four people were killed and at least seven others sustained injuries in a shooting incident that occurred overnight in Shreveport.

During a press briefing on Wednesday morning, city officials confirmed the news that an additional victim had been found dead at the scene, while another person had been added to the count of the injured.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on the 4th of July, Shreveport Police responded to a distress call on Jones Mabry Road in the Martin Luther King neighborhood.

Police reported that two individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, while another victim was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport.

Six individuals sustained injuries from the shooting and were transported to various local medical facilities. The current condition of these victims remains unknown.

Lieutenant Ray of the SPD noted that first responders faced significant challenges in reaching the scene due to numerous cars obstructing the street.

No arrests have been made, and the motive behind the incident remains unknown.

Investigators are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact the police.
