NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Convicted sex offender Reginald Eugene Gregory, 50, who is under state supervision for life, is confined to the Metro Jail on a charge of aggravated rape for Monday night’s alleged brutal attack on a 60-year-old wheelchair bound Madison woman.

The victim telephoned from her apartment to report the assault at 8:30 p.m. Sex Crimes Detective Will Amundson, who met with the victim at General Hospital, learned that she came into contact with Gregory, 50, as she traveled home on an MTA bus.

She said that Gregory agreed to help her down the street to her residence since she had groceries. The victim said once they got to the doorway of her apartment, Gregory dumped her out of her wheelchair and began to choke her with both hands.

She said Gregory then carried her to her bedroom where he is alleged to have sexually assaulted her.

The victim called police after Gregory left. Responding officers located him in a parking lot on S. Gallatin Pike and placed him under arrest.
