NEW YORK -An American Airlines flight from Phoenix to Boston was diverted to New York after the pilot suffered a medical emergency and died.
The copilot was able to land the plane safely.
American airlines has not disclosed the nature of the emergency or identified the deceased pilot.
The flight was scheduled to land in Boston Monday morning at 8 a.m. after departing Phoenix at midnight.
