Monday evening at the White House, “Commander,” President Joe Biden’s dog, bit another US Secret Service agent, CNN reported. This marks the 11th known biting incident involving the 2-year-old German Shepherd.

According to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, “Around 8 p.m., a Secret Service Uniformed Division police officer came in contact with a First Family pet and was bitten. The officer was treated by medical personnel on complex.”

Commander has been involved in at least 11 biting incidents, both at the White House and in Delaware. One notable incident occurred in November 2022 when an officer was hospitalized after Commander bit their arms and thighs.

Back in July, White House officials had announced that the Bidens were implementing new training and leashing protocols for the dog following these incidents.

It’s worth noting that another one of President Biden’s dogs, “Major,” was also involved in biting incidents at the White House. Major was subsequently relocated out of the White House, and Commander took his place in 2021.
