TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Port of Nogales arrested a United States citizen Tuesday night for attempting to smuggle heroin on her person.
CBP officers at the DeConcini pedestrian crossing referred a 50-year-old Tucson woman for further inspection and found two packages concealed around her torso, one package was identified as a quarter pound of heroin worth almost $6,800 and the second package of pills is undetermined at this time.
Officers seized the drugs and arrested the woman. She was then turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
