WASHINGTON — Daron Wint, 34, has been arrested in Northeast D.C. in connection with the quadruple murder that occurred on May 14.

Reports say police followed a white Chevy Cruze from Prince George’s County into D.C. and arrested the suspect on 10th Street and Rhode Island Avenue, concluding a massive manhunt. He was taken into custody without incident. We will bring you more updates as soon as possible.

From MyFoxDC: “A U.S. Marshals Service spokesperson says members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located Wint at a hotel parking lot on Route 1 in College Park, Maryland. He was a passenger in a Chevy Cruze vehicle that left the area of the hotel following a box truck. Authorities tailed the vehicles to Northeast D.C. where they were able to block in the vehicles. Multiple people were arrested along with Wint.”

A Prince George’s County helicopter was also overhead, assisting in the takedown.

Wint is charged with first degree felony murder while armed, police said.

From The Washington Post: “The break in the case that has transfixed the region came after police matched Wint to DNA found on the crust of a Domino’s pizza that had been ordered to the house the night of May 13, as the victims were being held, according to three law enforcement officials with knowledge of the investigation

The morning of May 14, Savvas Savopoulos’s personal assistant dropped off a package containing $40,000 in cash at the home.”

Four victims, three adults and one child, were found dead inside a home at the 3200 block of Woodland Drive and investigators are calling the the deaths homicide.

The Police Department got the call of a house fire around 1 Thursday afternoon. Responding Firefighters founf the home going up in flames and the fire raging on the second floor and attic. The fire was knocked down and the bodies were found as officials searched the home.

The victims were a married couple, their 10-year-old son… and a housekeeper.The deceased were identified as CEO of American Iron Works, Savvas Savopoulus, 46, and his wife, Amy Savopoulos, 47. The other two victims had been identified as the couple’s 10-year-old son, Philip, and a housekeeper, Veralicia Figueroa, 57.

Police aren’t saying much about the investigation but said the victims died of stab wounds and blunt force trauma.

A 2008 Porche 911 was last seen at the home before the blaze started, the Police Chief said. Police said they have located the vehicle but did not elaborate further. Police released the following video if the suspect.


Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a quadruple homicide. Investigators seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in a quadruple Homicide which occurred on Thursday, May 14, 2015 in the 3200 block of Woodland Drive, NW. The subject was subsequently captured by a surveillance camera.

The subject was possibly operating a blue 2008 Porsche 911 sports car which was located abandoned in the 8000 block of Annapolis Road in New Carrollton, Maryland. Anyone with information about the vehicle or who saw it being operated between Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14, 2015 is asked to contact police.
