WATCH: (Scroll Down For Video) Hundreds of people are now feared trapped in multiple collapsed buildings after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake shook Taiwan.
Reports have suggested that Tainan, which is on the south-west coast, have been the worst affected.
Pictures in that area show buildings completely and partially destroyed.
The earthquake rocked the island at around 4am on Saturday.
The quake had a depth of around 6.2 miles, which experts have deemed very shallow.
A local newspaper said: ‘Collapsed buildings reported in Tainan, with rescue workers arriving on scene. The city government there has set up a level one emergency response centre. Onlookers are urged not to block access to emergency crews moving into the area.’
The epicenter was located 22 miles south-east of Yujing and was even felt in the Taipei, the capital on the other side of the island.
