6-8 rounds from a ‘high-powered’ rifle were fired at the officer from a balcony, according to reports.

Officers were responding to a call about an intoxicated subject with a gun to his head. He was said to be suicidal and threatened to kill his wife.

Dunham’s wife told police he was armed with two rifles, two handguns and ‘lots of ammo.’

Police surrounded and evacuated the apartment complex searching for the gunman.

The suspect was found dead at his apartment from ‘at least one gunshot wound,’ Police said.

At this point, it isn’t clear if the suspect took his own life or was struck by gunfire during the initial incident.

Police from multiple agencies assisted in the hunt.
