Fond du Lac, WI. — 21-year-old Trooper Trevor Casper was shot and killed during an exchange of gunfire with a suspect in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on Tuesday evening.
As reported by Blue Line Across America: The suspect had robbed a bank and murdered an individual during a car-jacking.
Trooper Casper located the stolen vehicle and was following the suspect when he stopped and opened fire on him. Both he and the suspect were shot and killed.
Trooper Casper had graduated from the academy in December… Police said in a press conference today, it was Casper’s first day on the job.
INITIAL REPORT: The City of Fond du Lac Fire & EMS reports on its Facebook page that a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper is dead following a standoff in Fond du Lac this afternoon.
Breaking911 reported on a bank robbery earlier in the day and noted SWAT was on scene searching for the suspect.
The suspect was also killed during a standoff with police.
