ATLANTA — On Tuesday, August 20, shortly after 10:30 p.m. Atlanta police officers responded to a report of multiple people shot at 111 James P. Brawley Drive. On arrival, officers found Clark Atlanta University and Spelman College police rendering aid to three women who had suffered gunshot wounds. The women were transported for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. A fourth gunshot wound victim, also female, later showed up at Grady hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

All four women were listed in stable condition. The women had been attending a block party in front of the Robert W. Woodruff Library at the Clark Atlanta University campus when an unknown shooter opened fire into a crowd of about 200 people.

Police believe an argument broke out between two parties prior to the shooting. It appears the women were not the intended targets of the shooting. Atlanta Police investigators arrived on scene to interview witnesses. At this time, no arrests have been made.
