COLORADO — In February 2016, investigators assigned to the Colorado Springs Police Department’s (CSPD) Special Victims Section (SVS), the Aurora Police Department’s (APD) Sex Crimes Unit, the Denver Police Department’s (DPD) Sex Crimes Unit, and the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) identified a sexual assault pattern where an unknown suspect reportedly assaulted victims in each jurisdiction.
As a result of the joint investigation, detectives identified and arrested Desmond Alvis Martin.
Martin is a 29-year-old male who resides in Colorado Springs.
He is a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force and is assigned to Peterson Air Force Base.
To date, Martin has been arrested for three sexual assaults that occurred in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 2015 and one sexual assault that occurred in Aurora, Colorado, in 2016.
He is also being investigated for additional sexual assaults in Colorado Springs and Denver.
Martin has been in custody at the Criminal Justice Center in Colorado Springs since February 15, 2016.
