Santa Rosa, CA – On February 16, 2022, at 8:48 PM, Santa Rosa Police officers were dispatched to the 7-11 convenience store in the 2700-block of Yulupa Avenue for an unknown problem. When they arrived, they spoke to a male victim and learned the following.

The victim was a customer inside the store when an adult male suspect entered. The male started arguing with the store clerk. The clerk asked the suspect to leave, and the suspect grabbed some beer and walked out of the store without paying. He then walked back into the store and again started arguing with the clerk. The victim (an adult male) intervened and told the suspect to leave. The suspect went toward the victim and tried to punch him, but the victim was able to pull the suspect onto the ground. The suspect left the store, but he again returned a short while later with a knife in his hand. The suspect approached the victim with the knife and stabbed him one time, in the back of his upper shoulder. The suspect then fled the store and left in a vehicle.

The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury from being stabbed. He later drove himself to a local hospital for treatment.

Shortly after 10:00 PM, officers learned that the vehicle the suspect left in was contacted by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office in the 9000-block of Old Redwood Hwy, in Windsor, in a gas station parking lot. The suspect was a passenger in the vehicle. There was also a female victim who was driving the vehicle.

When officers spoke to the adult female victim, they learned that the suspect had forced her to drive from the scene of the stabbing, while he continued to hold the knife. As she was driving, she was able to use her cellphone to call 911; although, she was unable to speak when she called. Her phone call was routed to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety who along with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office assistance was able to locate the vehicle. The female was not injured. The other victim and her name will not be released at this time.

As a result of the officers’ investigation, the suspect, Dennis Marrow (26-year-old, transient) was arrested. Marrow was booked into the Sonoma County jail on multiple charges.
