Windsor, Ont., Woman Charged After Allegedly Threatening To Bomb Home Of Mayor

CANADA – A Windsor woman was charged for allegedly making a bomb threat against Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.

The following is a news release from the Windsor Police Service:

The Windsor Police Service has made an arrest in relation to a threat that was posted onto social media.

On Monday, February 14, 2022, the Windsor Police Service launched an investigation in relation to a bomb threat that was posted onto social media. The threat was specific to a residence belonging to the City of Windsor Mayor, Drew Dilkens.

Through the course of the investigation a suspect was identified and was arrested on Thursday, February 17, 2022 without incident.

The comments were located within a social media thread related to conversations surrounding Covid and current mandates. As such, investigators believe the threats are directly related to ongoing pandemic measures.

A 31 year old female, from Windsor, is facing a charge of threats to property and was released on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date.

No further information will be released at this time. This remains an ongoing investigation.
