NSW — AUSTRALIA — Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident where a vehicle ended up in a swimming pool at Hinchinbrook today.

About 4.30am (Friday 3 April 2015) a Mitsubishi Lancer, travelling westbound on Partridge Road, and a taxi, northbound on Wilson Road, has collided at a roundabout.

The Mitsubishi mounted the kerb, travelled through a fence on Wilson Road and landed in an in-ground pool in a residential backyard.

The 23-year-old driver, and his two adult passengers, were able to get out of the vehicle and were not injured. They have spoken to police.

The driver of the taxi failed to stop after the collision and police are appealing for the driver to come forward.

A crane will be required to remove the fully submerged car from the water over the next coming days.
