Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed a lawsuit against Republican Rep. Jim Jordan on Tuesday, accusing him of engaging in a campaign to intimidate and attack Bragg over his prosecution of former President Donald Trump.

Bragg, a Democrat, is seeking to invalidate subpoenas issued or planned by Jordan, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, related to the handling of the Trump case.

The committee has requested testimony and documents from Bragg’s office, which he has rejected. Despite accusations by the committee that Bragg’s policies are “pro-crime, anti-victim,” the D.A.’s office has provided data showing a reduction in violent crime in Manhattan since Bragg’s inauguration in January 2022. A hearing on crime in New York City is set to take place in Manhattan next Monday.
