DEVELOPING: Federal Building In Downtown L.A. Evacuated

LOS ANGELES — UPDATE: The woman making the threat exited the building and was standing outside as of 12:30 p.m. A series of streets in the civic center area, FOX11LA reported.

Witnesses told NBC4 that the woman was yelling at officers and holding her hand as if she was carrying a detonator.

The woman is now in custody.

EARLIER: There has been a bomb threat at a Federal building in downtown Los Angeles.

Evacuations were ordered at the building located at 300 N. Los Angeles Street in response to a bomb threat made earlier this morning, according to LAPD spokeswoman Officer Liliana Preciada.

Downtown Los Angeles is the central business district of Los Angeles, California, as well as a diverse residential neighborhood of some 50,000 people. A 2013 study found that the district is home to over 500,000 jobs.
