BRICK TOWNSHIP, New Jersey – An out-of-control wildfire was ripping through Ocean County, New Jersey Sunday afternoon.
The blaze, which engulfed numerous commercial buildings, halted traffic on the busy Garden State Parkway.
“The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is responding to an active wildfire in Airport Road & Cedar Bridge Avenue. Please avoid the area at this time,” officials said in an alert.
The Lakewood police department sent out a similar alert: “Large Brush Fire in the area of Airport Road and Cedarbridge Avenue. GSP is shut down between exit 83 and 90. Please avoid the area if possible.”
No injuries were immediately reported.
