Masked Intruder Enters Utah Elementary School; Police Snipers on Scene

[UPDATE: Police say the suspect at Eagle Valley elementary school is in custody.]

UTAH — Police were on scene at the Eagle Valley Elementary School in Eagle Mountain, Utah on Monday after a masked man entered the building.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the suspect walked in the front door and told faculty to evacuate the school and no one would be hurt.

Images posted to social media appeared to show the man outside of the building wearing long clothing.

SWAT members were on scene and snipers were seen across the street.

The suspect reportedly emailed local news outlets before the incident–warning of the event.

No injuries have been reported and it is believed no one is inside the school.

From KSL: The El Paso Times and other news media outlets received an email at 1:10 p.m. MST, from a man who wrote “I will call 911 with a threat of an explosive and drive onto my 9yr olds elementary school, Eagle Valley Elementary, with a True Explosive.”

The email’s sender identified himself as Christopher Craig, a former basketball coach at Utah State University Eastern. In 2014, Craig drove his car onto an elementary school playground in Price.
