JUST IN: Man Fatally Shot By Police At DC Metro Station Was Holding ‘Sticks’

    SOUTHEAST DC — Potomac Avenue Metro Station –

    Officials responded after reports of an unauthorized man on the tracks. Metro issued an alert after 9 p.m. on Thursday.

    The suspect was shot and killed by a Metro Transit Police Officer. No Officers were injured.

    Police identified the suspect as 35-year-old Bobby Gross. No other details about the man were released.

    FOX 5’s Paul Wagner reports the radio dispatch said the man had “sticks in his hands.”

    Potomac Ave is an island platformed Washington Metro station in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Southeast Washington, D.C., United States. The station was opened on July 1, 1977,[1] and is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).

    The station currently provides service for the Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines. The station serves a dense residential area of Southeast Washington around Potomac Avenue and is located at 14th and G Streets.
