CALIFORNIA – Three people were killed and more were injured when the driver of a car struck people walking near San Diego City College Monday.
Police were called to the scene in the 1400 block of B Street around 9:00 a.m. local time. The scene is partially inside of a tunnel near the campus’ Curran Plaza.
According to NBC San Diego, more than “60 first-responders were initially assigned to the scene, including five SDFD engines and a helicopter.”
Police have detained the driver for “driving while impaired.” It is unclear if the act was intentional.
Police say there were nine victims total. At least two are in critical condition.
