ITALY — (Scroll down for video) — Amateur footage captured the collision in the skies of Alba Adriatica, on Italy’s east coast, as the two planes flew in formation above Tortoreto.
Horrified beach-goers watched on as the two planes were seen travelling through the air before one appeared to suddenly drop.
Footage showed it hitting the second aircraft below it, sending both planes plummeting into the water with at least one of them breaking into several pieces as they spiralled downwards.
One pilot was killed and the other suffered only minor injuries.
