NASHIVILLE, Tenn. — An elderly Tennessee man was killed in a tragic accident Tuesday.
76-year-old William Burns was found pinned by the rear wheel of a tractor on his West Nashville property.
Burns was found by a neighbor under the tractor wheel just after 1:30 p.m. in the front pasture of his land in the 8000 block of Highway 70 near the Cheatham County line.
It appears that Burns drove his tractor through a gate, got off to close it, and, before he could get back on, was hit by the rolling rear tire.
The tractor was found by the neighbor in neutral with the motor running. The brake had not been set.
The death has been ruled accidental.
