Four Arrested In 2015 Murder That Stemmed From Street Race: Police

YONKERS, NEW YORK — On September 18, 2015, at 1239 a.m., officers from the Yonkers Police Department responded to the parking lot of the Burger King Restaurant, located at 826 Central Park Avenue, on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival the responding Units located a victim, who was later identified as Michael Nolan, a 23 year old Yonkers resident, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting victim was transported to Jacobi Hospital, where he was treated & remained in grave condition for the next three weeks. On October 9th Michael Nolan succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased.

Yonkers Police Detectives from Major Case Squad #2 responded to the scene of the shooting and initiated an investigation.

With little physical evidence and uncooperative witnesses – Over the next several weeks, these detectives conducted numerous interviews / interrogations involving over 20 separate individuals.

These interviews revealed that during the evening of September 17, 2015, two groups of young men became involved in a heated dispute stemming from a car race. This dispute, which became physical occurred on Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers.

A short while later – during the early morning hours of September 18th, several of the individuals involved in the prior dispute responded to the Burger King parking lot at 826 Central Park Avenue. At that time several shots were fired from a vehicle located on the service road adjacent to the parking lot. Several of those shots struck Michael Nolan, resulting in his death.

Detectives, utilizing information gleaned from interviews, as well as, video surveillance, social media, phone records and other investigatory methods, were able to develop a suspect vehicle and four potential suspects.

Detectives collaborated with members of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, as well as members of the Westchester County Intel Center, and while working tirelessly over the last 4 months were able to gather enough evidence to pursue criminal charges against the suspects.

On February 11, 2016, a Grand Jury was convened and on February 29, 2016, the Grand Jury indicted four individuals
