A high school junior was fatally stabbed this morning by a classmate after students said she apparently refused a boy’s offer to attend prom tonight as his date, authorities said.
Maren Sanchez, 16, was stabbed in the hallway at Jonathan Law High School in Milford, Conn., police told ABC News.
Sanchez was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where she died from her wounds a short time later.
Students have been dismissed for the day and prom has been postponed, officials said.
Police did not confirm the motive, but told ABC News that students told them there was a possible dispute over the dance.
