During a private lunch with President Biden earlier this summer, former President Barack Obama expressed his apprehensions about the political strengths of Donald Trump, according to a new report by the Washington Post.

Obama highlighted Trump’s massive faithful following, conservative media, and a deeply polarized country as his concerns for the 2024 election. Obama reportedly told Biden that Trump is a much more electable candidate than many Democrats realize.

The lunch took place in late June at the White House, the report said — and during their meeting, Obama assured President Biden that he would do everything in his power to support his reelection.

Obama insisted his worries were not related to Biden’s political abilities but rather centered around his recognition of Trump’s grip on the Republican Party.
