LOS ANGELES — A murder charge was filed today against a man accused of killing a 17-year-old girl during a robbery at a Marina Del Rey shopping center parking lot earlier this month, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Keri Modder said Cameron Anthony Fraizer, 21, of Los Angeles faces one count of murder with a special circumstance allegation of murder during the commission of a robbery.

Case SA092057 also charges Fraizer with two counts of attempted robbery of the second degree and includes allegations that he used and fired a handgun.

Arraignment is scheduled this afternoon in Department W30 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Airport Branch.

Victim Kristine Carman was gunned down on Jan. 6, during a botched robbery attempt while she sat in a vehicle with two other victims at the Villa Marina Marketplace parking lot.

“This lone suspect walked up on the car, made contact with a group in a parking lot near the car, then fired shots into the car and hit our victim who was in the backseat,” said Lt. John Radtke of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Carman was reportedly in California on vacation. Fraizer is being held without bail.

If convicted as charged, the defendant faces the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
