All Los Angeles Unified School District schools have been closed after LAUSD received a credible terror threat.

The Los Angeles School Police have confirmed that all students at school will be sent home Tuesday morning.

LAUSD currently enrolls over 640,000 students at more than 900 schools.

According to a source, the threat was made a disgruntled ex employee with a possible link to an Islamic group.

The email threat was received by a school board member and the last IP address was traced back to Frankfurt, Germany, LAUSD has confirmed.

A house representative spoke on CNN on how the email contained Arabic language, pornographic images, nerve agents and 32 accomplices.

Ramon Cortnies, superintendent of Los Angeles schools who made the decision to close all schools, told a press conference there were specific threats made against multiple schools and school students.

He said he had ordered searches on schools of all kinds – from elementary schools to adult-age college schools.

The district covers around 720 square miles in Los Angeles and smaller Southern California communities.
