Man Charged With Reckless Homicide After Accidentally Shooting Friend, Cops Say

NASHVILLE — Investigation by Midtown Hills Precinct detectives into the March 15 fatal shooting of Quinzell Pannell Jr., 23, near the intersection of 17th Avenue North and Hayes Street has led to the indictment of Pannell’s friend, Joseph Madden, 42, on a charge of reckless homicide.

Pannell, of Clarksville, was driving Madden’s Range Rover. He and his three passengers, including Madden, had been out drinking. Madden was handling a pistol in the back seat when it discharged, fatally striking Pannell.

Madden, of Fresno, California, was served with the indictment Monday. His bond is set at $25,000.

Detective Anthony Chandler led this investigation.
