Gold Beach will be the home to the nation’s first cannabis drive-thru.

The store, named Green Life Oregon, is expected to boost the state’s marijuana sector by offering a drive-thru.

Local business leaders and council staff have welcomed the idea and believe it will be a large asset to the area.

An economic development director of Curry County reported: ‘I’ve seen the business plan, I’ve met the investors, and I believe this venture is going to be quite an asset to the area.’

‘Their plans for expansion and other amenities can help Gold Beach and the southwestern coast become a destination for those interested in the new green tourism we are fortunate to be a part of.’

The store is set to open on April 20th, which is a reference to 4/20, the time of day users enjoy smoking the drug.

Marijuana went on sale to recreational users of Oregon on October 1st 2015.

Over 250 dispensaries opened their doors just moments after it became legal.

The state is on pace to reach $125million raised by taxing the drug.
