Wild storms unleashed havoc across Sydney over the weekend, resulting in power outages and flash floods.
According to a weather app, the storm resulted in thousands of lightning strikes which lit up the skies of Sydney.
Nick Panayiotou and Daniel Dudman were thinking of taking their boat out onto the lake but decided not to.
The lightning hit the water just meters away from where they were standing.
Nick Panayiotou reported to a local newspaper: ‘We certainly felt it from over here. There was a lot of static… That I reckon is the scariest thing, we were metres away from it,’
In the past two days, the video has amassed over 1.5million views.
In the video, Mr Dudman is heard telling Mr Panayiotou: ‘Dude don’t go outside.’
He ignores his friend and edges closer to the entrace.
Power was cut to more than 50,000 homes and businesses as a result of the storm.
