Police In Texas Warn Public Of Aggravated Kidnappings

AKRON, Ohio - A plane crashed into an apartment building in Akron on Tuesday, police said.

New Braunfels, Texas — Police are warning the public after two recent Aggravated Kidnapping reports.  The first reported incident happened a little after 1:30pm on Saturday, Jan. 16th, in the 800 block of West San Antonio street outside of the McKenna Event Center. The 35-year old male victim reported that a unknown male entered his vehicle, displayed a firearm, and instructed him to drive. They traveled a short distance to the I-35 frontage road and the suspect exited the vehicle and was last seen on foot running southbound towards Ruekle Road. No injuries were reported. The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5’8″ to 5’10” tall, wearing a red jacket with blue jeans shorts and dirty gray tennis shoes. The suspect was also wearing a black bandana on his head. The suspect was also described as thin, clean shaven, with gray hair, and was approximately 40 to 50 years of age.

The second incident was reported around 4pm Sunday, Jan. 17th , in the 200 block of South Kowald Lane. The 21-year old female victim reported that an unknown male flagged her down, entered her car, displayed a firearm, and instructed her to drive to Houston. Eventually the victim was able to stop the vehicle and then use a knife to stab the suspect in the left leg before escaping the car and running to a nearby bar (the Barbarosa Trough in the 4000 block of FM 758 in Guadalupe County) where she called police. She describes the suspect as a white male, possibly in his 30’s, standing approximately 6-feet tall, with green eyes. She further described him as thin, clean shaven, with a black bandana covering his forehead, and wearing a red hoodie.

Investigators with the New Braunfels Police Department continue to investigate these reports and are warning drivers to avoid stopping for anyone they don’t know, especially those matching this description. NBPD also advises residents to be aware of their surroundings, especially in parking lots, and to try to park near your destination in a well-lit area.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to call New Braunfels Police or Comal County Crime Stoppers. Comal County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2000 for information that leads to an arrest and/or grand jury indictment
