Nine Schools In Sydney Placed On Lockdown After Receiving Multiple Threats

At least nine schools in Sydney have been placed on lockdown after violent threats were made against them.

A police operation took place on Monday, which started at around 1:30p.m. and ended at around 4p.m.

Hundreds of students and teachers were evacuated as a result of threats, and at least nine schools were put on lockdown.

A spokesperson for NSW said: ‘investigations into the incidents are ongoing and is merely a precaution.’

The schools that were affected in Sydney are: : Sydney Girls High School, Hunters Hill High School, Riverside Girls High School, Mosman High School, South Sydney High School, Cheltenham Girls High School, Sydney Technical High School, James Ruse Agricultural High School and Randwick Girls High School.

A statement also read: ‘Police are warning that making such threats is a serious criminal offence and every effort will be made to identify the person or persons responsible.’ 

It is not known if these lockdowns are connected with last weeks evacuations.
