NEW YORK — A quick thinking police recruit in Flushing, Queens was able to help a fellow police officer last Wednesday.
Around noon inside the 109 precinct stationhouse, Police Officer Gordon observed Police Officer Schreiner in respiratory distress. Officer Schreiner motioned that he could not breathe and Officer Gordon was able to perform the Heimlich Maneuver.
Both probationary police officers are recruits from the Police Academy attending two weeks of field training at the 109 Precinct.
