SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA — Oklahoma Baptist University was on lockdown Sunday night as police searched for a reported gunman.
Shawnee Police were looking for the armed subject on the north side of Campus. Coates has been evacuated. The rest of campus was ordered to lock down. Multiple law enforcement agencies were on scene.
The president of the school wrote on Facebook: “A driver of a pickup drove through a neighborhood north of campus and Shawnee Police gave pursuit on foot. The subject, said to be armed and dangerous. He ran south onto the OBU campus near the area of the baseball and softball fields just north of St. Anthony’s hospital. Multiple law enforcement agencies are on the scene including Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Shawnee PD, OBU PD, and others.”
