UPDATE: Mother Charged After 2 y/o Fell Into Cheetah Pit At Cleveland Zoo

CLEVELAND — A two-year-old boy fell into the Cheetah exhibit at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

Zoo Officials say the mother was dangling the child over the railing when he fell about ten feet into the pit.

The boy’s parents jumped in to save him. The animals didn’t go toward the boy or his parents. The child injured his leg and is expected to be okay.

Michelle Schwab, 38 has been charged with misdemeanor child endangerment.

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is a 183-acre zoo in Cleveland, Ohio. The Zoo is divided into several areas: Australian Adventure; African Savanna; Northern Trek; The Primate, Cat & Aquatics Building; The RainForest; and Waterfowl Lake.
