Controversy has surrounded the Spokane, Washington chapter president after allegations that she had been deceitful and led people to believe that she really was an African american. The firestorm erupted when a news reporter confronted her and asked her if she was really ‘Black’ and she rushed off visibly upset.

On Monday, Rachel Dolezal stepped down as president from the Spokane, Washington NAACP.
