A first aid call to assist a sick child ended up turning into a drugs bust as over 1,000 packets of heroin were discovered at a hotel in New Jersey.

The unexpected find happened at a Holiday Inn on Route 35 in the town of Hazlet.

Police officers were initally called to the hotel on Tuesday to deal with a youngster who had fallen ill, however it was as they began assisting the child that officers Russell Surdi and Patrick Kiley noticed there were hundreds of folded packets of heroin in the room.

 

Upon further investigation, Hazlet Township police found more than 1000 packages of heroin and other drugs.

A 27-year-old woman, Robyn Brown, 27, of South Amboy has been arrested and charged with multiple narcotics offenses and endangering the welfare of a child.

The woman is being held on $232,000 bail at the Monmouth County Correctional Facility.
