A recent poll has revealed that Angela Merkel’s popularity had dropped significantly in wake of the migrant crisis.

81 percent of Germans now think that the migrant crisis is out of control under Angela Merkel and do not think she can handle the influx.

Angela Merkel lost 12 points from a poll last month and now has an approval rating of only 46%.

This comes as the government admitted that over 91,000 asylum seekers arrived in January alone.

She is now ranked third in terms of popularity by German voters.

Over 1.1million migrants entered Germany in 2015 alone, that figure is set to rise significantly during 2016.

A video recently emerged on social media which portrayed three Afghan migrants assaulting German pensioners on a Munich subway train.

A local newspaper said: ‘The people no longer stand behind the government’s refugee policies,’

‘The Chancellor – until a few months ago the driving force of her CDU party – has fallen massively in favour with the voters.’

The interior minister said today that 91,671 people were registered as asylum seekers in January.
