Surveillance captures brutal attack on four detention officers in Maricopa County’s Lower Buckeye jail.
Employee Scott Beattyv will need reconstructive surgery after he suffered broken bones to his face and bleeding on the brain, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said.
The inmate, whose name was not released, faces assault charges. The attack was unprovoked after the inmate was told to return to his cell.
A GoFundMe account has been established to help defray the costs of Beatty’s medical treatment.
