Two Saudi women have been sentenced to 20 lashes after it was discovered they used bad language while arguing on WhatsApp.

The two women were also jailed for 10 days after the court claimed they had used ‘impermissible expressions’ during their conversation.

The judge then warned that if they continued to use bad language their punishment would be much more severe.

The court then decided that both women were equally as guilty and handed down the sentences.

Recently, a prince of Saudi Arabia’s ruling Al Saud family was given lashes in a prison in Jeddah as a court-ordered punishment. This comes less than a month after the kingdom executed another prince for murder.
