Officials in Spartanburg, South Carolina announced the arrest of Gregory Howard Frye of Spartanburg in connection to multiple criminal sexual conduct and attempted criminal sexual conduct incidents between 1995 and 2003.

Six months ago, investigators from both agencies began to look into the unsolved cases from a different angle. New technologies allowed the investigators to expand their reviews of the cases. They worked reviewing the cases, re-interviewing victims, identifying potential family members of possible suspects, collecting DNA samples and sending that evidence to SLED for analysis. Last week, police received notification from SLED that through their analysis, a suspect with a matching DNA profile had been identified. That profile matches the evidence collected from the victims in 6 of the completed criminal sexual conduct cases.

Gregory Howard Frye was arrested by investigators from both agencies Tuesday and transported to SPD. He is charged with one count of Burglary – First Degree, Kidnapping, and Criminal Sexual Conduct-First Degree for one of the incidents in the county. Additional charges are pending.
