Tennessee Babysitter Charged with Murder of 2-Year-Old

TNASHVILLE – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Cottontown woman who is charged with the abuse and death of a toddler she was babysitting.

\TBI Agents and the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the injury, and subsequent death, of 2-year-old Aiden Hale of Gallatin.

During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that on March 26th, the toddler’s babysitter, Kayla Pauze, inflicted an injury that resulted in the hospitalization of the boy. Aiden’s condition worsened, and on March 29th, the toddler died from his injuries.

On May 8th, the Sumner County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Kayla Nicole Pauz, 25, with one count of Aggravated Child Abuse and one count of First Degree Murder. On Tuesday, Pauze was arrested and booked into the Sumner County Jail, where she is currently being held without bond.
