The Arlington Police Department responded to a shooting in the 500 block of Lincoln Square at a local business on Friday, October 27, 2017. When officers arrived, they located a man in his 20s deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers also located a female in her 20s with injuries consistent with being run over by a vehicle. The suspect was not on scene and fled prior to officers arriving.
Investigators believe that a man in his 40s followed the younger couple to the business and shot the man in his 20s in the parking lot. Detectives believe the suspect then ran over the woman who was tending to the man who had been shot in addition to striking the shooting victim with his vehicle before fleeing. The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her condition is not considered life-threatening.
Officers located the suspect and his pickup around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in the 3400 block of W. Division St. It was determined the suspect was deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators believe the suspect was the father of the woman who was run over. Detectives further believe that the man initially shot was a boyfriend of the woman.
